Newport Monday

After a less than spectacular three days of halibut and salmon this last week, I went over today to try my luck once more before the storm. Got a late start and didn't get on the water until about 10:00 this morning. The "crowd" was almost non existant so I followed my own path. I didn't want to go to the pile as I was still sore from the weekend. Fished in 160-210 from the lighthouse to a little south of Newport. Result...1 24.5 and three keeper silvers. Had a lot of action but most didn't stick and we released a fair number of natives. Fun day and nice to be back on the catching side of things...I think I was less than a happy halibut fisherperson! Hope to see you all out there soon for some TUNA!!! maybe after this blow is over, we can go and seek some bullets from Depoe Bay! I would love a weekday hunt if I can get some pack mates.

Well WP I'm not working so email me I'v never caught a bullet before so I would be a new be but I have good references on Hali-buts. keep up the good fishing reports.

I'm in!! Next trip out. Any day that's calm, I just finished tying some more tuna rigs. (I still owe Skien for the hooks) The boat is ready, handlines ready, trolling jigs and fish traps are getting anxious.
WP send me a PM when you think you might go again. Hoggem in, you may have to live up to your handle, we'll find a seat for you.
