Default any sturgeon up river from I-5 bridge?

Hey fellow fishermen/fisherwomen I was wondering if anyone has had any luck sturgeon fishing up river from the I-5 bridge, I usually fish in the camas/washougal area, but the last few weeks have been abnormally slow, is it the smelt down river? is it the cold water coming in from the washougal river? Anybody have any Idea's? or any luck in that area?

Fish-on, welcome to Ifish! If you want to post a newbie story, I would highly recommend it, b/c whether or not it is actually required, members who have provided one, and thus allowed others a chance to get to know them before letting out any "big secrets" illicit more responses! Anyway, although I cannot say that I have fished for sturgeon above I-5 recently, I know that many fish are below the Willamette, staged to the smelt arrival- that's one reason for all the pressure in the lower river. Secondly, the water above is still pretty cold, which has a tendency to slow the bite dramatically, downriver, with the Willamette water influence, the river is a full 4-6 degrees warmer on the south side, and although the bite hasn't been great anywhere in the Big C, from what I've heard, it's been better in the warmer waters. Hope this helps, and hope someone else throws in some input here! TOC
