Default Crescent 9-20

I decided to do an early fall Crescent mackinaw trip Saturday so I posted an open seat and Chris (twisted lines) took me up on it and my friend Doug (Bend Fishn) rounded out the crew. Fortunately there was no evidence of fire or smoke (thanks to the cool weather and showers)
Ran into Joemomma on the water later in the day and stayed in cell phone contact with him. As is often the case when the barometer is changing the macks stop feeding. We got only 1 takedown and managed to get him to the boat.

The wind and waves got pretty nasty by 1:00 so we decided to pull out. I went up to get the truck and did not notice any wind on shore so we decided to check out Odell. Sometimes it actually is calmer over there. We drove to the look out just west of Shelter Cove and it looked OK so we went to the launch at Shelter Cove and backed down the ramp. I swear in those 5 minutes the white caps appeared and the wind was downright howling! And so ended our day of mack fishing. It was nice to meet and fish with another new ifisher. Better luck next time.

Joe,

Thanks for the report. Any chance you got a water temp?

Good report Joe! It sounds like the lodge really dodged a bullet with that fire! I also see that you have a lower, third arm on your right side... That must come in very handy while operating a downrigger and letting line out, driving the boat, etc.

Jimmy while I was twisting His lines and admiring the layout of (fish on bends) boat. I did have a glance 61. May have been warmer in the water. Thanks for taking me along; really enjoyed the ride. Twisted lines

Thanks for the temp. Still to warm for me but it looks like fall is here and the water temp should start dropping fast. I have also had the privilege fishing from Joe's ( fish on bends ) boat. He has a very nice lay out.

Hey Joemomma, did you make it to Odell? Thought I saw you on Friday as we were trolling off Princess Creek. Tried to catch up later but couln't find you. Water temp at Odell was 64. Had my family up (28 OeDells) weather was great 140 kokanee smoked to prefection.

Yes i did, i was camped at trapper creek friday night thru sunday, we only fished for macks sunday and saw one on the finder, zippo, didn't try for kokanee, I saw some nice ones at the resort being cleaned! My highlight at Odell was a rumble with a racoon! 1-0
