Cool Re: great video on how to change impeller

Good video ...
But he left out a few operations like dissconnecting and reconnecting the shift linkage and making sure you rotate the impeller in the correct direction on reinstallation ...
One of the most important things to do is to lube up the drive shaft spline for easy removal next time you change it ...
It has also been brought to my attention by a fellow ifisher that the video is incorrect on gasket placement under the impeller that I missed ...
This should be the metal plate only and not a rubber gasket on top or it can tear and result in breaking the seal on the impeller housing ...
So I retract My endorsement of this instructional video ... Barney Barnwell

Default Re: great video on how to change impeller

Can someone post the video of that Merc smoking itself as the impeller eats that gasket, that should be UNDER the wear plate, gums up the whole housing, and stops pumping water???

Just because it's on the internet don't mean it's a fact.....
