Default Premium Gas in a Kicker

I just picked up a 1999 4stroke 9.9 Merc (Thanks Gizmo) and hooked it up to my main gas tank and just realized that I run premium per Volvo's recommendation and was wondering if that will adversly affect the kicker?

Any input on it will be greatly appreciated.

Paul

Sorry, wrong area to post. Can an Admin move it?

I think your actually better off to run premium. With the new ethenol in the fuel and it's ability to absorb water, I read that the pemium will help it burn in the cylinder if you do have a small amount of water in your fuel.

Smaller carb outboards do better w/ Premium often times.

I use it for both my Yammi 115 and 8.

I was told by Yamaha, fuel choice would not matter on the EFI 115 larger outboard, but that alot of guys like premium for the trolling sized outboards w/carb.

I also run a light dose of Marine Sta-Bil for good measure.
