Aquaholic update
Aquaholic and his wife and I hit the Ranch again today. Ocean was not an overly smooth ride, with a lot of wind chop on the water. Made for a rather bouncy day.
Aquaholic and his wife boated two halibut, 34" and 42". I donated a lot of gear to the undersea gods today, along with most of a spool of line.
No halibut for me, but that's why they call it "Fishing" and not "Catching".
I would like to thank Aquaholic and Steph for the 2 days of fishing I got to spend with ya'll. Was a lot of fun, and good getting to know you both.

Re: Aquaholic update
You're very welcome Sea Jypzee....glad to have you aboard as well as meet you. It's my understanding that the next Hali-Hunt will be the 1st of Aug. Hope you have your boat by then ...and thanks for the preview of tuna rigging...that's my next adventure.

Re: Aquaholic update
Just got wonderful news today. The Sea Jypzee may be up here by early next week or so!!
We'll have to go chase down some tuna!! I'll probably have a boat full for halibut just from people at work who've made me promise to take them out.

All right!
That musta been worse than waiting for Christmas to come when you were a kid (or every year if you're me  ).
Glad to hear somebody finally had an empty trailer and a full tank coming up!

Re: Aquaholic update
MBH - Yep, I've been chomping at the bit every day here this past couple of weeks trying to figure out how I was gonna get that thing up here. It'll take me a few days of prepping it before I'm ready to take it out for much fishing, but it won't be long now. In looking at the email I got today, it MAY be picked up on thursday, so should arrive here Friday. Will cruise it up from Sturgeon Bend, and park it in Depoe Bay when it arrives...I gotta work all this weekend, so won't be able to even do anything on it till next week.
Dean - That sounds great. I should be ready for at least the coho fishing by the 4th. Will have to see what the SST's are looking like and weather as far as tuna goes.

Re: Aquaholic update
Up in Toledo. A little longer run down the river to get out, but the hoist fee is much less there.

Re: Aquaholic update
Ah yes, Never realized you could get that far up the Yaquina with a boat of any size, but I guess the Toledo mills used tugs to move logs and stuff up and down river huh?
Pretty bad since I grew up in Cornvalley and spent my youth hanging out in Newport and Wallport area.
Course- I wasn't exactly a Salty Dog or even a Salty Pup then.

Re: Aquaholic update
Evidently several of the charters use them still to haul out and do annual work on their boats...
