Dan, I'd love to. Unfortunately I have plans to got to the waterfowl festival in St. Helens with my goose hunting partner. Maybe some other time. When you get back up here, we'll have to hit the river again and try and put a fish in the boat this time. Take care, Earl.

Yes Earl, I'd love to. But I don't get excited about fishin 'till Semtember.

Im not a big chinook fisherman although I have caught plenty of them smelly fish. I prefer the coho's and we will connect and fish them where I caught them last year and the following years.

If I am unable to make it (I think I have cancer), then you can fish with Sturgeon Dave, Brad or my brother which I have shown them all the spots.

It is a sweet/uncrowded salmon fishery and those are hard to find now days.

Dan,
Me and the wife might be interested in some bottom fishing. Just got back from the North Santiam tho and pretty tired.......don't think we could make an early morning trip but later in the day might work. Never been out in the ocean, how far out do you have to go for coho?

Dan,
Having never launched at Depoe Bay, what is the ramp/parking like if a guy doesn't get there at 4 in the morning? Is it better to wait until later? After launching in town all spring, I'm kind of tired of fighting the crowds. I don't know if you got my message last night, but I called about going this weekend.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">I've seen the ramp and parking lot in Depoe Bay crowded with boats from dark-thirty till mid-morning easily. Especially for Coho opener weekend. I've seen it where people literally had to park out on Hwy101 cause the ramp parking lot was full, so if you don't get here bright and early you may miss out on a spot.

Good luck if ya come down. I'd recommend making it very early to make it out without much trouble.

Sea Jypzee,

Thanks for the response on the ramp. I don't mind having to walk back to the ramp, but I would rather wait until the biggest part of the crowd is gone. I guess there is still plenty of time for bottom fish and coho.

love2fish,

If it isn't too late, get your butt down here.

Your message didn't come over my fax machine too clearly and I tried calling the number twice you left (360) 904-0782 and the gal I talked to was getting irritated the second time.

I tried to call you and look up the # on superpages.com, but there were several Steve Short's in Washington!

Hope you are here tomorrow!

Hi Dan,

I just got off the phone with Martin85 and we decided to wait until next week when the crowds thin out. Sorry about the bad message, my number is 360-904-0780 and its Steve Schlitt. No wonder you couldn't get ahold of me. I have next Friday off and I can get just about any other day off so maybe we can hook up then (weather permiting).

Thanks,

love2fish

love2fish,

If you see this before you come down tomorrow if you do, ask for Simon Peter or Ugly Green on the CB channel 21.

If we are too busy catching a fish, we'll get back to ya.

Dan,
We'll be there early tomorrow (Sunday) through Tuesday. (4 days off!!) If we can find an open camp spot around for a tent that is. We may end up down around Newport looking for a campsite, but we'll definitely be in the "Dopey Bay" area over the 3 days.
Hope we catch up with ya!

wak'm&stak'm,

Did you go out of Depoe Bay yesterday? A lot of ifisher's down here.

Appears you live in Newport but you are talking of launching at Depoe. Why's that?

Anyone going out of Depoe Bay tomorrow (wednesday) and have an empty seat? Taking tomorrow off work, and would love a day on the big blue. Have lots of Salmon gear.

Hello Huey (South Paw).

Actually this tomorrow thread was intended for last Saturday. It will be touch & go for me fishing for a while.

Email me if you are headed this way and I will see if I can get free.

If anyone does have an empty or open seat for Nancy (Sea Jypzee) I can vouch for her being a true salty dog.

Saw her come in last year or the year before all by herself in her small boat with her halibut limit and some tuna.

hehe, thanks Dan. It's no real biggie for tomorrow anyhow. I've got plenty to do around the house here, and to prep for the boats arrival next week. Got a message today that they're picking it up next Tuesday morning.

Yeah, that was year before last since I didn't fish last year at all. Was the Mid-August Halibut season. I made a run out to the Ranch, picked up that halibut, then came back up on the outside pulling the tuna gear and got the 6 albies. Was a great way to spend a nice day on the water, even solo.
