Aquaholic limits

As the subject line says, 3 of us on Aquaholic limited on halibut today. We stopped short in the morning and fished the rockpile for a bit. No halibut hook ups, and it wasn't looking promising there, so we moved on out to the Ranch and got limits on one drift.

Thanks much to Aquaholic and his wife for the great trip. The ocean was beautiful today. A great day for a boatride.

Sahweeeet! How was the ocean? How big were the fish? I Have so many questions.......

Ocean was essentially flat. A slight swell, nothing higher than about 3-4'. Very nice day on the water.

The fish, hooked up a double 10 minutes after arrival to the pile. Aquaholic landed his, mine was small, so I kicked it loose without boating it. His was about 36" as I recall.

I boated the next one, about 36" also.

Only one fish left to tag....turned out we both hooked up about the same time...aquaholic's was 40 1/2", mine was 40" so we kicked mine back to the depths. (hated releasing a nice fish like that, but we were at limit and the 2 in the box were already dead).

Cleaned up, and headed for Newport.

That almost sounds too easy..... Man, I wish I was down there. Hope this holds 'til Saturday so I can get a turn :grin:
