Safeway gas discount limited to first 35 gallons

Took the boat over to Madras Safeway to filler up and the attendant told me Safeway will no longer give more than 35 gallons on the discount price over the normal 3 cents.
After the first 35 gallons , the pump auto shut off the pump. Then you start all over with the 3 cent discount.

Rats, the 20 cent discount was helpful, but now it's not worth the time to stay in a line to fill the boat, especially when you need 80 gallons.

Is anyone aware of Fredy's having a gallon amount on their fuel? We do have a Freddy's gas here in Bend.

I don't think so. I spent 150 the other day for boat and truck. Wasn't 80 gallons

If only there was this invention where people could talk across distance by wire...or even low power radio waves, relayed by towers.....

Scappoose Freddies will fill the truck diesel and 160 in the boat as long as I remember to tell them to run the card inside the shack.

I filled my crew cab's both tanks up with .70 discount and it didnt shut off

The Safeway I fuel up at doesn't have any limitations.

I got a $1.30 per gallon discount the other day. It had been a long time since I had paid $3.09 a gallon for diesel.

HP - were you paying with a credit card? If so, the limit is the amount they'll accept on a card at one time ($100 I think). If you were paying cash, you can get as much as you want. I just went through this whole ordeal with Damascus Safeway. And this is the answer I got. But they were kind enough to refund the difference when we ran the card for the second $100.

I made the same mistake by paying with a Visa -- $75.00 limit, so only got +/- 19 gallons. Our Safeway wouldn't let us run another card, which stunk because we had a $1.50 or $1.60/gal discount.

I'll pay cash next time and fill all 30 gals.

I have never been able to get more than 10cent discount.

Spend a lot of money buying groceries and don't buy fuel there for a while. They have a new discount program - brochures available at your Safeway fueling station.

Nope Cash money. I am thinking ,I just got took at the Madras store- So Just won't be bothered filling up there any more.

This was the first time I have ever run into this problem filling up. At Philomath Safeway, I have got the discount for filling the boat and then filling the truck with diesel. So I was a little surprised when this attendant told me that Safeway was limiting the discount to first 35 gallons.
So they lost a customer!

I'll filler up in Philomath from now on.

The guy at my safeway told me this discount program ends September 30.
Don't forget, you will lose any per gallon discounts you may have accumalated, a new discount program begins in October!

When I fill at Safeway...I always pay inside the little shack. You still run your club card at the pump but don't insert your CC and problem is solved.
