This message is being transmitted via satellite from the fishing vessel Julie Rose III.

Hey guys and gals, I’m sending this message via satellite to let you know that I’m currently about 75 miles offshore catching Tuna like you cannot believe! Mostly small, but a coupla large grade in the mix. Got 47 in the boat, and just idled down for the night. Set the autopilot for a spot bout a hunnerd miles out, should reach it about dawn.

Got over here about 1:00 PM, ocean and bar was flat, but couldn’t find a crew. Decided to go out solo!

Saw the first fins bout 50 out, decided not to drop in till I saw more. Got into a “Maytag School” bout 60 out, put em in. BAM! Couldn’t believe it…..all four handlines lit up at once! Pulled the throttles back to half, and scurried down to pull. Got all four in, and started letting them back out. Got three out, and #1 lit up…then#2...then#3...didn’t even have time to get the fourth out! It just kept going that way! My arms were really getting tired.

After about 45 mins of this, it quietened down and I decided to take a quick smoke and a beer.

Put em back in about 15 mins later and it was unbelievable! They were lightin’ off as fast as I could get em in the water!

Actually….this is all a fib! I’m just sittin’ on the boat wanting to go out, and got bored. (But I really am sending this via satellite.)
