Need Terminal Tackle Advice for TUNA, TUNA!
Hello Salties, sorry I have not been as active of a participant lately, my work has been very hectic the last few months but it is all slowing down, maybe to screeching halt if we don't get a budget soon!
The last few months I have spent alot time and money to get the boat all rigged up for the big show. It looks like I may get my first chance at chasing some Alabacore on July 4th weekend out of Shelter Cove.
I have a few stout rods with 4/0 senators, now I need to rig them up in hurry! With all the expenses lately, the wife will only let me afford to buy the bare necessities at this time. So what should they be.
Will 130 lb mono be useful? For Handlines and chains maybe?
Leader material/test (fluro?)?
Hook types and sizes for trolling and live bait?
Swivels type/size?
If you could only have a select few lures, what should they be?
Anything else?
Thanks in Advance
Aquatically Yours,
Thomas

130 is ok- watch for abrasion. I use 180 for "tie my own" but prerigged stuff (cedars) comes with 130 pretty std. If you are lifting them in the boat instead of stickin em with a gaff, could be an issue.
Top lures, cedar plug, feathers (TUna clone/Zuckers), homemade squid "feathers" (hook, beads, couple egg sinkers and a hootchie.
Albis are not leader shy, save the fluoro for Bluefin.

Thanks Miss B! I am having trouble locating anything greater than 130 lookin in Cabelas! Any on-line sources or places to phone in?
