hello, ifish.
gotta throw a bone out here to you hunters. i don't usually post. yeah, i'm a notorious lurker preferring to PM for questions and advice, usually dealing with fishing, BUT i'm gonna be giving paulina deer a try next month. i've only been in oregon a few years, moving here from nebraska via saint louis, my friends that i can get to go fishing are slim and those that want to hunt are slim to none. if you throw in their jobs, pregnant wives, and other various lame excuses what you get is me trampin' around central oregon solo.
more so than anything, it'd be nice to have someone in the area or someone hunting nearby that can hear me scream when i shoot myself in the foot or poke myself in the eye or get eaten by a cougar. not that, according of odfw there won't be 3000 hunters out there anyway?
but, i thought i'd throw an invite out there just as well. PM me if you're gonna be in the area and could use another pair of binoculars. i'll be out scouting a few more times in the next weeks, and i plan on camping in the area a few days before opening morning. this is my first rifle hunt, but, having bow hunt white-tails in nebraska growing up, this ain't my first rodeo.
granted we'll see if i can shoot straight or hike as far as i plan to, but just to finally get out there between work and chasing steelhead will be an accomplishment. along with most guys on this site, i probably spread myself a little too thin to be really good at anything?
of note, i obey the law. i'm the guy that gives you plenty of room when i drift by you on the river. and there's a decent chance i could drink you under the table.
