Who else is seeing a red moon tonight??
It looks really cool out here!!!
I tried getting a couple pics and here's the first:
Then I tried using all of my cameras zoom....
but couldn't get it to focus very good at all.

It was eerie looking here in Salem. About an hour ago, three helicopters, I assume National Guard, headed off into the east, and it was quite a view as they headed towards the moon.
I wonder what's making the moon look like that tonight. At one point, the moon even looked blurry from here. What kind of crud could be in the atmosphere to do that?

I smelled a lot of smoke in the air tonight in the Orchards area of Vancouver. A red moon is usually assoicated with forest fire smoke.

There is a fire east of Roseburg. the wind is blowing north.
Its red here in Springfield too.

Yeah it was pretty sweet for me as well. I was out on the Umpqua and sorta left myself more river than I thought before the take out.. I had about 2 hours of rowing under an orange moon... Pretty nice capper for a 3 day float

Red moon and kinda red sun here.
There are two 5,000+ acre fires, one near Glide, and one near Prospect.

Heck the sun as it was setting was the same color as the moon.
all the fire smoke & smog.. Sure wish rains would return, to clear the skies.
