Has anyone jigged for herring in Newport recently? Are there still bait there? I am bringing my boat over on Wednesday in preparation for the halibut days and wanted to jig fresh herring, if there is any there. Thanks for the help!

I went Friday and there was plenty. They should be around til at least Wednesday and maybe Thursday (in coming tides).........from then on hit and miss.
