Fish Camp - Vittles?
DipSeaDiver here, alias Mrs. Skein.
Just wondering who was bringing what foodwise....I'll start:
We'll be bringing a big pot of clam chowder (thinking maybe Thursday night), some homemade bread, green salad makins' and watermelon for sure.
Hoggemin, we have a large crockpot that we'll bring along for use as needed. I know that PM is sending one also, so it's a back up or can be used for something else.
The smoked clams are already packed and ready to roll.
We'll also have our little Weber BBQ on board just in case anyone catches some fish.
What else?

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
Skein: John has the pot, but not the burner. If you could haul yours down, that would be great. If you don't think you'll need the xtra crock pot, that will lighten Dale's load fer shure. Wish I was coming down, too. But I have all of July to play.
Dale: Thanks. You've got mail!

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
PM... Not to worry about the crab cooker or the crock pot. We've got it covered.
Popeye...you're right! It's AKA! I'm AKA some other things too, but I won't let Jim print them. Some of my students have had some interesting AKA'S of course. But they wouldn't live over it either.
Are you and Julie going to join us at any point? Would love to see the two of you and reciprocate some of the good hospitality. Clam chowder on Thursday night.....bring the tribe and join us.

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
I can make it Saturday night if you guys are planning on being there that long. I could check with the boss about bringing some 'mud bugs'? Just say the word.

Rod,Skein and I will be there through Saturday night with our trailer, with Bluebeast's permission, of course.
What are "mud bugs"? (I'm still learning the "lingo".)

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
Hoooooooohhhhh boy, you're in for a treat! 'Mud Bugs' are what the people in the south like to call crawfish. I cleared it with the boss so I'll be bringing some etouffe for those interested.
Popeye can vouch for my 'bugs'! Well, then again maybe he can't remember due to a few extra pre-dinner beverages that evening!

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
Got a limit of Gapers Sunday (I'm sore) and two limits of cockles Monday. Had gaper clam chowder tonight and will freeze the cockles for later. Some great low tides. The ocean was flat today but the wind was blowing a little. Saw boats fishing the near shore reef and some heading out to Stonewall. Family day today, but hope the ocean stays flat tomorrow for bottom fishing. Looks like Thursday will be the day for us flat ocean types. Wind picks up Friday and Saturday.

Pitchpocket- If you're around this weekend I'll see ya Sat latest. Running the boat down this week. Leaving weds eve. I was going to take 3 days and putz around going down but it sounds like the Sturg is going to close real soon down there. I need a couple for the freezer so I might haul down the Cathlamet thurs am and then fish all day, run in to Cathlamet for the night, back out Friday for more fishing then come into Warrenton friday afternoon. back out Sat for.... more fishing???

Mel... what... you're expecting Salty Doggie Bags?
I don't think so Tim... last time the way the knives and forks were flying... was almost a battle zone.
Great eats... no leftovers.

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
DipSea - My crock pot may not make it. It didn't make it into John's gear. My bad.
Dale - have room for a few "extras"? No - I'm not sending the kids down with you. John forgot his bedroll, crab cooker and now I've got the crock pot issue. The crab cooker is a little "awkward" to transport, but it is brand spanking new (and CLEAN!)

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
PM,
I can bring our crab cooker, and like Janis said, we'll bring the crockpot. Sure wish you were coming down. It won't be the same without you.
What else?
Popeye, why don't you and Julie come on by and join us. It's our turn to share some hospitality with you for a change. Kids and grandkids are always welcome too.
Skein

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
Mis-B, I'm in Newport this week with the extended family. I'll be back in Astoria for a few weeks on June 28 to top off the sturgeon order. I'll see you at the docks.

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
Hoggemin,
Don't think you will need to bring the burger if you are bringing roast. It sounds like others are bringing lots of vittles too. I'm sure it will be a food fest as usual.
The crock pot is on board.
Mis-B, All these other vittles are to go WITH the Halibut! We know we'll have fish. Man cannot live on Fish alone....or can he??

Re: Fish Camp - Vittles?
Mrs BB will bring down the fixens for her home made chili... should be ready for us when we return to camp Friday.
From everyone's comments we won't starve... at least not in camp. Drive safe.
