Anyone taking the tuna gear....
Anyone taking the tuna gear with them to the hali derby this week?
I'll be down Friday night and fishing Saturday and Sunday. If she's flat I'm up for a run. Saturday the plan is Chicky Ranch and maybe a poke out for a look-see.
If temps and ocean are good then maybe make a run out of Depoe on Sunday.
Anyone else interested?
Please, please let the ocean lay down!

Re: Anyone taking the tuna gear....
I would be up for a little tuna trial if the weather gods are agreeable and the halibut are cooperative. Saturday I plan to try for silvers...maybe a three slam?

Re: Anyone taking the tuna gear....
If my boat were up here, and weather permitting, yep, I'd be out for halibut, then run tuna on the outside back up to Depoe Bay. Last time I did this solo, got a 40lb halibut in about 15 minutes of fishing (10 of it bringing the fish to the boat), and 6 albacore on the way home. (2 triple hook ups). Was a very nice day, back in port by 2:30pm. :-)

I can't even imagine the chaos being out there solo!

Yes I will be taking the tuna gear with us. 30 miles out is sure a long way to go without dropping the tuna gear for the trip in.

I think Skein has my boat covered on the tuna gear. Homemade bread, onions, pickles, mayo, and a cedar plug. I have a good feeling about this weekend.

Re: Anyone taking the tuna gear....
I'll have some tuna gear with me on Sat. & Sun..
I think that we'll hit the rock pile for BFB then check the radio for tuna updates and salmon fishing.

Uh...Greg, that tuna is already in the jar (thanks, Pilar). It's up to you to find us the other kind.
Oh man, oh man, oh man. You don't suppose....

Re: Anyone taking the tuna gear....
I talked to the guy at the fuel dock at South Beach yesterday. He said a couple of guys have been searching for tuna. They've been out up to 100 miles and haven't seen anything yet. Don't know if it is a reliable report though.
