Default Tillamook charter down

Just caught a quick shot on KGW's morning news about it. 18 people missing? I was down there yesterday crabbing in the bay, had some out of town guests that really didn't want to venture out into the 8 ft. swell. I noticed around 10:00 everyone crossing the bar including the charter boats. I could tell by the look on most of their faces it wasn't pretty out there. I'm sure everyone knew there was a predition of 12 ft. today? I hope they can save em!

Yeah, I called them when I heard.

Here is the unfolding story

Please be so careful out there. :depressed:

Pete called me when it happened. He is staying at Barview.

Very tragic.

I was in Sisters for the rodeo when I saw the headline in the newspaper. Stopped me in my tracks. :depressed:

The idea of Taki-Tooo capsizing is very sobering when you consider that the skipper was on the ocean every day and had tons of experience.

I have seen the boat on numerous occasions when fishing Garibaldi and from casual observation it appeared to be stoutly built and could get up and plane.

An investigation has been started and perhaps they will uncover some information we are not aware of yet.

Thoughts and prayers to all the families and friends lost.
