Zulu, a tall (27 inches at withers), male, young 73 lb. black lab who loves to play and retrieve, was a stray that was never claimed. His time was up and he was due to be euthanized. Fortunately PUPS stepped in and rescued this nice boy. He lived with his foster family for about three weeks, and got along well with their dogs, cats and
livestock. After he had been neutered he came to Gun River on a scholarship
for obedience training. He is obedience trained and appears to be housetrained. He has what would be considered equivalent to 2 full months of training. That consists of the commands heel, sit, come, down, no, off and give. While he is not a robot, he is a biddable boy. Zulu is most likely a purebred Labrador from field trial lines. He is a very willing, sweet spirit and loves to please. Also, Zulu has a short coat which might be appreciated in the house by moms and vacuum cleaners. I have had no problems with him. His his passion is chasing birds, and because he is determined never to allow any bird to set foot in his territory, he will self-exercise (in a fenced area) very effectively.

Ideally, PUPS wants his adopter to be willing to travel to Gun River in Dallas, OR (near Salem), to take advantage of Gun River’s offer to introduce them to Zulu and get them started on their partnership. Zulu needs an owner who is committed to working with him and spending time with him in order to take advantage of his training and help him to be the best that he can be.

Zulu is obedience trained, neutered and is current on DHLPP-Corona, Bordatella, Rabies and has been wormed, flea treated and will be micro chipped before he is adopted. He is ready to be an instant part of the family, needing no more vaccines or neutering or anything.......... Just loved! * In addition, Zulu does excellent on Purina Dog Chow and has had no allergies, skin problems or ear problems since he was rescued from death row.
