Public Meeting Thursday to Discuss Groundfish Regulations

NEWPORT - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will host a public meeting Thursday, June 12, to share information and obtain input for the upcoming Pacific Fishery Management Council meetings that will affect Oregon's groundfish regulations.

The meeting will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Englund Marine at Newport's Bayfront.

ODFW's Marine Resources Program staff will provide members of the public the results of PFMC's groundfish Allocation Committee deliberations from its June 10-11 meeting in Portland. In addition, the staff will discuss issues expected to be addressed at PFMC's June 16-20 meetings on groundfish regulations. Both ODFW staff and Oregon PFMC members will be available to respond to questions and receive recommendations.

I don't suppose this meeting will have anything to do with halibut and reccomended seasons?

Might be a good oportunity for those that would like to see the slot limit back on lingcod to speak out.
