Default Premium gas in Newport harbor???

Is there a marina in Newport harbor that sells premium gasoline? The Port docks only have regular and my boat needs some good stuff to run on. How about Embarcadero (sp)?
I don't particularly want to trailer the boat each day but I will if I have to.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know Pilar added a couple of cans of octane booster when we went out. He can tell you more about ratios, etc, but it seemed to work.

Just a thought.

George, I would definitely avoid the Marina fuel, early in the season. It is low octane. As much as it is a pain, if I have time at all, I pull the boat and go to the Chevron in Newport.

Avoid the Texaco, no wait it is now a Shell. Many stories told about that place.

If you can't avoid the marina gas use an octane booster. Just follow the directions and guess how much you will need (gallons of gas). Then add the booster before you gas up so it will mix. My boat will ping on low octane gas and the fuel additive worked in May because it did not ping. The one time I bought fuel at the fuel dock last summer, sans booster, I got to listen to the unhappy 4 cylinder hammering away all day long.

On the last day I just gas up on the way home, near my house.

Hope that helps.

Thanks John, I will probably just pull it out and get fuel. I wonder if the problem I had in May was related to the low octane fuel. The engine was running hotter than normal and I wound up with a cracked spark plug that ended the trip. I can't hear a ping, the engine is just too noisy under load. See you on the salt in 11 days.
