Saturday 6-7 Garibaldi Report
Kenai and I fished garibaldi today. Long story short we got two feeder chinook 10-12 pounds, 2 flounder, a half dozen hake, a half dozen silvers from 2-6 pounds (released), thirteen crabs (three pots), and I got one gaper clam in the bay by the cleaning station. I was letting some stowaway short crabs go when I spotted the gaper, so I grabbed him too. Not bad, six species in one day. Big fun. We also dropped one salmon that was likely a chinook and longline released a couple more silvers.
Weather was great, 5-10kts, 4-6' swell. We were out in front of pyramid rocks fishing between 240 and 290' of water fishing 150-200' down. Downriggers are key. Hawgjaw struggled trying to mooch. Bring lots of bait or fish lures, there are lots of hake and silvers about.
Met a guy at the cleaning station with a shallow halibut, you've probably seen is C-Dory, trailr sailr. One today and two yesterday just inside 180' off Manzanita. Go get em.
Thanks again, Mike, thanks for going without sleep. Great time.

Yes, those C-Dorys are fishy boats
Thanks for the report. I am going into serious withdraws. I don't know what I'll do with myself for the next three weeks in Ireland if I can't find a way to fish.

Re: Saturday 6-7 Garibaldi Report
They were little and incidental. 10 inches or so. Kept em anyway, that's good eats scaled, headed and fried whole. Got em trolling herring on an RSK 200' down in 250-300' if water.

Re: Saturday 6-7 Garibaldi Report
Fished out of Garabaldi on Sunday the 8th. We boated three chinook, one feeder and two at 20 lbs. Landed 6 coho and 1 hake. Two of the chinook came over 150 foot down on the down riggers and the other came at ~70 pulls with 16-oz of lead.
Had to fish longer than planned due to the bar being closed for the return trip. The water temps were way high, we saw water at the 300 foot line that was 60 degress.
