"ROTSA RUCK" was right at home today. It was a return to old haunts for the girl and it was obvious she liked it.
We motored around the bay all of about 30 minutes and then headed towards the bar. As we slipped under the bridge I loosened up the reins and let her stretch her legs a bit.
I was playing with the Loran trying to remember the sequence to enter a NAV route and such.....man it's been along time.
The old owners had saved the Newport bar bouy line as waypoints and ROTSA was telling me she needed to run so I punched in the whistler and over we went.
Today the NP bar was an alcoholics hell..... absolutely no bar present!
We idled around out there and practiced with the Loran from bouy to bouy for an hour or so then ran the old girl up river to Toledo and back.
One of the Holley's was acting up a bit so we made a couple adjustments but that was the only wrenching we did.
One more trip out to the whistler and back and we put her away for the night.
I saw Popeye and his first mate Julie as they were leaving port and hollered at them.
The fish checker said he hadn't checked a salmon all day at 2:30pm.
Maybe Popeye will have a report for us tonight.
A very good run and now that this captain knows his vessal a little better we will venture a little further.
Thanks for the good will brothers. I feel a strong relationship building between me and this fine Lady of the Sea!
Pbr,
What were you piloting today?
We met some nice folks today. Every where we went the Tbird drew attention. She's got personality!
