Default Thunderbird in Newport Bay

It's finally going to happen!! We're headed down for the maiden voyage this morning.

All systems are up and running after a long day of frustrating mechanikin in the sweltering heat yesterday.

The boat is white with brown and yellow stripes and the biggest tri hull you have ever seen.

If any of the SD crew spots us swing over and say hello.

Today we will spend inside the bay. If everything is looking good I will run for the Pile tomorrow.

Is anyone planning on fishing the Rockpile Sunday? I would really like some company for tomorrows run.

Hope the shakedown goes without a hitch and it's just a couple of fun days in the water. Looking forward to halibut with you. Be sure and post your cruise results. Have fun!!

Yes sir, it is the biggest tri hull I have ever seen. Saw it going out as I was coming in and then saw it parked at South Beach.

"ROTSA RUCK" was right at home today. It was a return to old haunts for the girl and it was obvious she liked it.

We motored around the bay all of about 30 minutes and then headed towards the bar. As we slipped under the bridge I loosened up the reins and let her stretch her legs a bit.

I was playing with the Loran trying to remember the sequence to enter a NAV route and such.....man it's been along time.

The old owners had saved the Newport bar bouy line as waypoints and ROTSA was telling me she needed to run so I punched in the whistler and over we went.

Today the NP bar was an alcoholics hell..... absolutely no bar present!

We idled around out there and practiced with the Loran from bouy to bouy for an hour or so then ran the old girl up river to Toledo and back.

One of the Holley's was acting up a bit so we made a couple adjustments but that was the only wrenching we did.

One more trip out to the whistler and back and we put her away for the night.

I saw Popeye and his first mate Julie as they were leaving port and hollered at them.

The fish checker said he hadn't checked a salmon all day at 2:30pm.

Maybe Popeye will have a report for us tonight.

A very good run and now that this captain knows his vessal a little better we will venture a little further.

Thanks for the good will brothers. I feel a strong relationship building between me and this fine Lady of the Sea!

Pbr,

What were you piloting today?

We met some nice folks today. Every where we went the Tbird drew attention. She's got personality!

Pictures? Is she camera shy?

You know, it seems that this whole deal went down pretty quick. At Fish Camp I you were lamenting the pounding the jet gave you, and next thing I knew you were poking around old boat houses at night, looking for .... for what? Then we hear one followed you home and I'll bet every one of us thought you'd be hack-sawing it in half ala the blue Pilar. But, no, the next thing we know you're stomping all over the Loran's and dancing on the bar.

Gotta see your new girl.

ARGHHH

I don't have any good pics but it's a 20' Campion Explorer. It is a walk around front, has kind of a small cockpit right in the middle of the boat. There were some Bayliners over there that were the walk around type, mine doesn't have any markings on it, Just a blue stripe and a blue top.

I met you just as you were about to go over the bar.

Sound like an all around great day for "ROTSA RUCK"! I can't wait to see her and fish from what sounds like a unique and beautiful boat. Can I confirm the 20th?

Skein,
Fish Camp I, is where I received the first call on this boat. My initial contact with one of the prior owners was durring Bloody Mary #3.

The previous owners fished and partied from her deck and he imeadiately knew she would have a good home.

Pictures are on the way. For some reason I can't upload from my home work station. (Picture upload sucks) I will post them when I get to work on Monday night.

SKSPAWNER,
See my newly posted topic. I will be in contact through e-mail shortly.
