Default RAZOR CLAMS

I was out of the state in April & May so missed the low tides. How was the clamming on the
clatsop beaches? It was wonderful last year and am wondering if I should plan on going in June. Thanx in advance and slippery shovels.

Domoic acid has closed it for much of the season. The levels are dropping very slowly. When it opens again the clams will be huge.

IFISH2,

You didn't miss anything. The razor clam season has been closed since last October (if I remember correctly - I knew I shouldn't have eaten those clams!) due to high domoic acid levels.

The levels were coming down, but according to Dean at Englund Marine, they went back up again. Grim news.

Here's a good thread I started a few months ago on the other forum regarding this issue. I posted some pic's I took of them necking at Agate Beach last year and Clamman & Fast Water posted some good info. Clamman's one post was discouraging.
