Default Snake River Scouting Trip (pic heavy)

Man am I soar!!!! What a cool place, we hiked about 20 miles looking for a good place to hunt deer in October. For some crazy reason we decided to hike the freezeout trail to the top, it is only 2 miles but you gain a little over 3000 feet in elevation! After that we went up to Hat Point and found a few places that weren't quite as STEEP. We saw 3 good bucks, a few bears and one nice bull. We also saw a couple dozen goats the last 2 pics were through my spotting scope. The first 2 pics are of the Seven Devils taken from Bear Mountain. Can't wait till season opener!
Tony

You don't want to drop your bowling ball out there (why you would have a bowling ball with you hunting I do not want to know)....

Enjoy the hunt and good luck,

That's the way we went into the canyon, did you use horses? makes the hike in and out some what easer.
I did get my tag filled, 6 of us, and 4 hooked up, nice 4x4, about half way coming up from the river, (needed a bath).
This was back in the mid 70's.

That is some amazing country. If you zoom in with your digital, it will expand your field of view and you'll get rid of the black circle effect.

Here's a digital I took at distance through my spotting scope to give you some idea.

Tony,Great shots.Welcome back from Purgatory. That canyon is a very cool place.Did you hit any spots that i told you about? I'm still going to hunt from the river in my sled and if you are hunting by hat point would you please chase a nice 4 point buck down to the river for me.The big rapid you seen straight down from hat point is rush creek.Good luck on your hunt.

Very nice tony,

Been seeing quite a few good bucks here at work. Got one picked out, just don't know if he will stick around for the opener or not. Usually see him first thing in the morning just before it gets light enough to really see good. He then heads into some 15 year old regen and disappears for a while. Good luck.
