Default How do I get rid of it?

The problem; we have a nice piece of river bank property on the north fork Nehalem river that is just a piece of heaven to me and the family. But to have heaven there needs to be a hell and for us that has manifested itself in an old decrepit camper. Years ago the brother in-law allowed a buddy to drop off his camper and I guess he forgot to pick it up because it has been there for the last five years and we all know what five years of coast weather will do to an unprotected camper. It leeks, it stinks, and I want it out of there. I wish it was as simple as putting it on the truck and hauling it out of there, but I don’t think I would trust the jacks and even if they did work my truck bed is too small. I ask you my fellow ifishers for suggestions. How do I get it out of there the fastest and cheapest way possible?????

Rent the jacks that slide in on either side (not permanently attached). Rent a friend with a bigger truck. Problem solved.

I had the same problem. I dismantled it. Took the siding to recycle. Sold the fridge & stove to an RV shop for replacements. Burnt the wood and raked the metal for salvage.

There is money to be had with just a little work. Salvage the fridge and stove and clean up. Salvage restroom fixtures. Peal off skin to take to scrap yard. pull wiring out for scrap yard. Burn frame as stated.

Remember, "the buddy" holds the title and unless he signs it over to you, I doubt you can do anything with it beyond having it hauled to the "buddy's" property. Better check out the legal side of this problem.

I had the same problem with an old camper of my sons. Total junk. I was putting in a driveway along side the house to store my travel trailer.

Could not give it away on Craig's List or anywhere.

The excavator just crushed it to bits and loaded it to the dump.

Thumbs up Re: How do I get rid of it?

Call your buddy say you have a week to get it out. When the week is up call the Sheriff and report it adandoned and they will tag it for how ever many days the law is there. After that time burn it to the ground or whatever.

Offer a fellow ifisher, access to your private fishing hole, maybe someone local would be willing to at least help you get rid of it.

A very simple solution. Send your brother's buddy a little note that as of October 1st, you will be charging $250 a month rent for having his camper on your property. Send it certified and if he doesn't move it, charge him. My guess is that he will move it very fast.

Put a sign out by the road as well for those that do not have access to a computer. A lot of the people in that area collect scrap for income. I bet it would be gone in no time.
Good Luck

My buddy grabs flooded and abandon cars in that area sometimes. Anyone have an old car to go along with it?
If you saw the Estacada Hick Shack in the 4th of July parade, or pictured in the Tillamook newspaper, he yanked that outa my backyard.

There is a guy who advertises here in Tillamook to pick up scrap metal, and he might be interested. PM me, and I will send you the info.
