Re: Live from Maui
I define pandemonium as having more hookups and potential hookups than people.....there were only 2 of us on the boat yesterday (37' Bertram) plus the skipper and deckhand....
After a couple hours of obligatory trolling we got a call from another boat that was really laying the wood to the wahoo....so, we picked up ran to the northern tip of Molokai....dropped our jigs and instantly one rod went down....let my father in law fight that one....nice Mahi Mahi....then it started....the skipper was up in the tower...he spotted multiple Dorado....we were stripping the jigs off and throwing on dead baits and casting right behind the boat as fast as we could as my f-i-l held his fish 20 yards behind the boat......stick one fish, grab a new bait and back out....hook up! Blood, fish, slime everywhere....
Next pass 1 rod down...then 2.....then 3....we picked up several Wahoo on that stop.....
Next pass...1 rod down....then 2...then 3....more Wahoo....you get the idea.....
Alas darkness was coming soon and we had to get back.....
We were using new Tiburon reels with automatic 2 speeds.....it shifts from 6.0 to 2.8 and back automatically based on line tension....for those interested, retrofit kits are available for TLD's.....
