Prayers please,New job Updated!!!
After 18 years in the railroad industry with a 160 mile round trip commute and really odd work hours.I have been accepted for a public utility job 20 miles from home.
They had over a 1000 applicants.Over 200 people tested for the job.And less than 10 people were interviewed for 2 openings. They called me the day after the interview and told me I got the position.I just have to pass the background check and physical. The check came back good on Tues.I have my physical tomorrow morning.
I know its going to be fine. But my nerves are really standing on end the last week or so.I hate this nervous jittery feeling. So I cant wait till its all over.
I have been praying and have had a lot of prayers said for me for getting the job.
But I could really use some calming right now.I really would appreciate any prayers in regards to passing the physical, and also to a calming of my nerves.
I really have seen the power of prayer.Especially over the last couple of years. The prayers I have seen answered are nothing short of amazing!!!!
So I would really appreciate it if you all could just keep me in yours for a few days.
Thank you everybody,
Rick

Re: Prayers please,New job Updated!!!
Thank you to all that included me in their prayers.
Last Monday I was coming home from work. When I got stuck in a 6 mile backup.Took me 3 hours to get home.
Well about 1/2 way into my wait I started feeling all the stress and tension that was built up in me start to dissipate. The wait in traffic wasnt even bothering me.It was very noticable and an incredible feeling.
By the time I got home I was getting back to my normal stress free feeling. That night I got my first good nights sleep in over 2 weeks.Oh,that felt good.
You know,Ive been praying, and had a lot of prayers being said for me.To help get through this time. But my wife has always said."You need to turn it over to the Lord" I think that when I was stuck in that traffic,I finally, really did turn it over to him.I think that he was testing my faith and also telling me,when you rely on me,I am there for you.I wont let you down.
Last week our Pastor was talking about the markers in our life that really reinforced our belief in God.This has definately been 1 of those markers to me!!!
Tuesday I gave my letter of resignation, and after confering with my supervisor on Wednesday they gave me a choice of sticking it out till the 24th or calling Wed. my last day,and using sick days and vacation days to get me to the 15th. I really liked that option. So I have some time off till I start my new job on the 22nd !!!!
I had to laugh though. My first day on the job I go to the dam, jump in a company truck and drive to Tacoma,3 miles from my old job,for orientation.Somehow I think this drive will be a better 1 than most of the others Ive had going up there.
Thanks again everybody, the power of prayer and faith, really does work!

Congratulations on standing out in a crowd. Do not sell yourself short.
Those are some long odds that you just beat, no accident.
