Default Focus with your binoculars

I thought this was SO interesting. I thought this would be the best board to put this on, since you all use scopes and binocs.

Has anyone used Zen-Ray optics? They are a Portland based Company.

I found this article. You should sit down with your bincoulars and read this, if you don't know how to focus yours. I thought I knew how, but man! This helped me so much!

How to focus your binocs.

Thats a great tip Jennie.
Thats how Ive always done it.With 1 exception.I dont close the eye.I hold my hand over the lens to block the view. When I close my eye.It seems to take longer for it to aquire a clear picture.

Jen, thanks for the link. It was posted at the courtesy of Metro Naturalist James.

HntnFsh, that's what I typically do. Since our binoculars have tethered objective lens cover, I would cover the lens with the cap to free my hand from doing so when I do the diopter adjustment. The ZRS binoculars will have diopter lock so it won't lose the setting once it is set. I think I got some work ahead of me to update the tutorial on how to focus binoculars.

I bought the wind rivers 10x40's with the individual eyepieces 10 years ago. I always struggled with the center focus and the right eye on the glasses I had previously. Thanks for the tip!
