Kurtis.. Boat still down? Please elucidate us on the progress of ThreeMuch... Has your mechanic turned into a marshmallow???

You know.... when you call and say:

"Gee, I don't want to bug you but how is it going? If you get it fixed soon I'll take you for a shakedown trip and we'll go fishing too."

And he answers:

"Still waiting for parts but I'll take you up on the offer."

Where are you guys fishing out of this time of year?

I have a 22' Duckworth and am anxious to learn new areas. I usually fish for salmon out of Astoria or Girbaldi but I know both of those ports are not open yet.

My boat will actually be at Allen Marine till Saturday. I am having the 20 hour service done on my new 225 Honda 4-stroke. What a motor that is going to be. Very, very quiet and fuel efficient.

Like I said, I am kinda new to Ifish but have been associated with the NW Steelheaders since I moved here in 1992. I consider myself a decent fisherman but never give up the chance to hone my skills from people who are willing to teach. I have been fishing the big blue hard every summer for the past 4 years and really enjoy it.

I am definately willing to swap some trips if any of you are interested.

Take Care.

Sensei-
Threemuch is still down, I am having the old motor removed. I will be having a bracket installed and a new or possibly used outboard. Right now finances are tight, so I am trying to scrape pennies up for this little adventure.

I know those salmon are off Garibaldi out in 200-250' of water. Someone just needs to go get em!

Kurtis.... Although expensive a new bracket and a newer motor probably is the wisest choice. I am fond of the new Suzuki line of four strokes. A friend has a pair of 70 hp on a 23' sled and it is a rocket. Absolutely quiet... It is errie. No motor noise. They sound like a turbine instead of an internal combustion engine.

So you are going to con Pilar into taking you out at Port Volkema. Don't count on quick limits. The usual coastal upwelling hasn't done its thing to bring the salmon up from the depths. You will have to work at getting them.
