Default Latest Terrafin SST

For those of you that have access to Terrafin, check out this morning's shot of Oregon/California and northern California. Most interesting feature is a plume of warm water that appears to originate far offshore West of Pt. Conception near the 127 W line and 34 N. Following that current it seems to sweep towards the coastline of northern California and Southern Oregon. This could get very interesting.

For those without terrafin, check out the free shots of northern and central California at www.terrafin.com. Cheers...Nofish

Not sure whether or not there would be fish in it right now, but it does provide the "connection" I think Pilar was talking about. We'll just need to keep an eye on it.

You people are relentless!

I just get back from vacation and it's not even June yet and there's already a couple of threads regarding SST's and Tuna!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! It's too early for this!

My marriage barely survived last year's tuna season! There is no way it will survive this season if it starts in June!

...............I'm sure gonna miss her. :depressed:

Drifting buoy 46705 (currently 250 nm west of Point Arena) is showing temps ranging from 58 to 60 degrees. This is part of the same current plume that seems to be pushing towards the coast.

When things settle after this next round of howling north winds (for us along southern Oregon/northern California coast). We'll be looking to see if it's still out there.

Sorry, I just can't seem to let this go. I guess I got it real bad.

Sensei - you bring the music, we'll play it. Rafael (Santana's) says we can play whatever we want. He'll even turn on the disco ball and close the drapes if we want to dance

Sensei san, look at the shot from this morning and the free shot from the 24th. 58+ building about 50 miles offshore and working in towards Dopey Bay.

Another week or so and it could go higher.

Tuna in June? Stand by for flash message traffic on this channel .. the fishing channel .. all fishing, all the time.

Flash .... the water temp at the Stonewall bouy 46050 has been above 58 approaching 59 degrees F for over 24 hours now. Hmmmmmm.....

Follow that warm water south. The sportfishing fleet and the private boater fleet are big time into the albacore. Word I've gotten is that there are fish spread from 45 miles out of Point Loma (San Diego) down 350 miles.

The way the water is moving up you northern guys just might get some early action.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Ah, don't you know I'm comin' (get ready 'cause here I come)
On my way (get ready 'cause here I come)

You wanna play hide 'n seek with love, let me remind ya (allright)
Lovin' you're gonna miss and the time it takes to find ya (you're outta sight)
Well, fee-fi-fo-fo-fum, look out baby, now here I come

GET READY FOR HERE WE COME!!!!!

Pilar needs to have this song going in the background of the tunaholics meeting. Would make a good national anthem for Tunaholics Nation.
