Fairly good numbers coming from the North end of the Rockpile all the
way up to just North of Depoe Bay. Try fishing in about 50 fathoms, as
close to the bottom as you can get ... although one of the charters out
of Dopey Bay was catching a few this past weekend using divers, the bulk of
the fish are deep.

We landed a 29lber off the south end of the Pile on the 15th. 3 of us were fishing the bottom for Halibut and the fourth guy fished a Herring not 10 feet down when he hooked the nook.

Was just wondering, I have not been out to the rock pile. I usually just venture out to the CR Buoy and fish for silvers out there as well as nooks.

What port is it out of and how far offshore is it. Coordinates would be awesome. I know the CR is about 35 Fathoms according to the math.

Any info would be helpful.

Regards,

Kentucky Hog Hunter.

Default Hows the salmon fishing at the Rockpile?

Was thinking about a trip to the Rockpile for a chinook possibly Friday or Saturday this week. Anyone been out who can provide a report? Are they there in numbers yet? How deep are they running?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info FA & CrazyFish.

KHH - The Rock Pile (also known as the Stonewall Banks on the charts) is about 16 mile W-SW from Newport.
