Default SST!

An area of 55 degree water is present in the usual place off Newport and Depoe. Also notice the 57 degree water off northern California.

I can hear the reels singing .........

Only 5 degrees to go.

There is no water further out to support the annual migration .... yet.

Last year I watched with glee when the warm bubble formed as early as mid June as warm as 60 only 30 miles out and 65 at about 50 miles out. Unfortunatly the strong seasonal NW wind kicked in and rolled the Ocean over nearshore dropping the surface temp to the low 50's for 30 miles out.

It did not stop blowing until July 4th. The first nice forecast was on 7/7/2002 and we were cruising west with the sunrise.

Long live Al - Ba - Core!!!! and the brave souls who find them and grind them.

According to Terrafin, the good water looks to be south of 36 and west of 123 which is right about where it should be for this time of year (off central CA) That mass of water should north and east whenever the north winds stop blowing.
