Default Canning? Need a crab cooker? Turkey Fryer?

Besides the canner on sale at BiMart (at least it was last Saturday), Albertson's has 30 qt. Turkey Fryers on sale for $29.99. Doubles as a burner for your canner so that you can perform that function OUTSIDE (trust me, you will thank me later for this suggestion ) and should work great as a crab cooker, too.

In looking at the picture on the box, I had some concerns about how sturdy the stand might be, but now that I have it out of the box, it seems great. Pilar will have to assess and may make "adjustments" Tim Taylor-style.

I don't know if all Albertson's have them, but the manager of the store on 185th and Walker tells me he has plenty of them. If you don't find them, ask the manager.

I'm a little confused about what your canning?? If you plan on canning meat (any meat) you nead a preasure cooker. Anything that has a low acid content you need a presure cooker. You can't just water bath meat. Maybe i'm confused about what your trying to do. If so let me know I will try and help the best I can.

We use a pressure cooker for canning tuna etc., but do it outdoors on a propane burner. The turkey fryer is complete (comes with the burner & a pot). The burners can cost as much as $50.00 alone. So $30 for a burner (that you can use in conjunction with a pressure cooker purchased separately) is a good deal.

No assistance required. Just offering info on a good deal. But thanks!
