PBR Streetgang
I'm glad someone recogonized where my alias came from. Apocolypse Now was of course the first Vietnam epic, and one of the best. I was looking for a cool yet obscure name for my boat and settled on that. No, I'm not a vet, I was born on the height of the Tet Offensive in 1968 and some of that energy flows through me.
I bought a new (to me) boat this spring, a 20' Campion with 200 hp etc. I had a 17' very small boat that I sorta kept going. I discovered Coho Salmon several years ago off of Newport and the bottom fishing etc.
The new boat was expressly bought for my trips out of Newport and the few times I have had it out it has done very well.
As I hone my sea skills I will someday join everyone out in the Chicken Ranch and such for Hlaibut. I have a few things I need to get, mainly a good hard wired GPS before I venture too far.
That's about it, I stumbled onto this website last week and love it so far.

Re: PBR Streetgang
That was me, Tim and that was one hell of a movie.
Robert Duvall playing the Air Cav madman colonel is one of the rare moments on film that keeps me going to the movies to maybe see more.
We are looking forward to seeing you fish big blue this summer.

Re: PBR Streetgang
I loved it when he ordered them to surf.
Either that or we'll move on up to the front!
Whole time they're being shelled and he doesn't even flinch.
That was one the those movies you don't just SEE you also Feel it.
EDIT:
I was so caught up in the movie I forgot to welcome you. Welcome aboard PBR!

Greg, like I said .. totally believable madman.
I still love to play 'Die Walkure' (Ride of the Valkyries, Wagner) when I cross the bar.

Re: PBR Streetgang
I live in Bellingham and had the good pleasure to talk with an old Uniflite guy that spent a lot of time building PBR's. Great and interesting conversation, although a little depressing. It was sad to see all of that boat knowledge in such old eyes and know that we loose so much every day when a guy like this heads off to the "fishing grounds". :depressed:
Here is a great PBR Veterans Association webpage.

Happy Memorial Day and thanks to all of you vets.
