Detroit Lake Trip Report

Just got back from Detroit lake. Spent Tuesday thru Friday and the fishing was slow compared to our trip last year, where we limited out each morning and afternoon.

We trolled with wedding rings, we threw worms, eggs, corn, spinners and everything else we could think of.

We heard that the best spot for Trout was behind the island and we picked off a couple there. We picked off a few at the Dam as well.

The only consolation was that I picked of my personal Trout record. He/She was 16+ inches and I got it on a 4' rod with 2lb test, what a kick that was. Caught at the dam using a night crawler with Lunker Lotion.

That is a nice fish! Congrats on your personal best. That is a light weight line for a fish that size. It must have taken some skill to land it.
