Default Dumb Newbie Halibut Question

I was wondering when we will know (if we don't already) whether or not there will be a second window of opportunity for halibut. I wasn't able to make it out of Port Orford the first go around...hope we have a second shot at. Thanks for the info...Nofish

Newbie, The information will be posted at this website sometime this week.

http://hmsc.oregonstate.edu/odfw/fin...but/index.html

Don Bodenmiller has to get the information from all the fish checkers computers and crunch the data. After crunching the data, he consults the ouija board, joss sticks, tarot cards and puts his finger into the wind to see which way it is blowing and then decides if we get any more days.

Actually it is more scientific that that. You should see Chumking in action. He actually uses an abacus.

First of all, there are no stupid questions...
From what I've heard June 12th is going to be our second chance.
Welcome to the Salty Dogs Board, and keep askin' them questions!

Wildhawg... Don't think so. Check the site above. The poster has the makeup dates on it. The first makeup dates are June 19-21.

Sheesh, busted before I could edit! A friend who I thought was in the know told me that, but the website stated different. Guess we'll see.
