Default Pilar's thought expanded

Reading one of Pilar's post about archiving certain post a thought came to me.

Could we set up a "book" with tips/techniques. I am talking about a format that would allow for catagories on things like terminal tackle set ups, downriggers, rods/reels, electronics set ups, weather links, wild card section with crazy/creative thingamajigs that were fabricated (ie.."the stick"). These are just a few things that come to mind as far as catagories. I am thinking extra bonus points for pictures.

I am not sure how hard this would be to set up and maintain. What do ya think?

That sure would be nice. A living, breathing reference manual.

I've searched high and low for a reference book that covered everything I ever wanted to know about fishing big blue. You end up with one person's experience and opinions with each book, and no ability to question things that aren't clear.

Well, I've found my reference, and it's all right here. Anything I can think of, someone here has been there and done it. The only problem now is it's kinda hard to find when you need it. That and the pics don't stick around.

If I had the time and ambition, I'd copy and paste as much info as I could from the archives and write my own reference book. Hmmm, then I could market my book and...nah, I'd rather be fishin'.

Very kewl idea. Some kind of an archive with all the kewl tips and tricks. But why limit to the big blue what about all ocean going fish. I mean we don't need to know who's who in the wide wide world of blue gills bit some big rivee salmon stuff would be kewl.

Maybe a more logical way to catagorize this information would be by type of fish/fishing.

I think even if a person wasn't a tuna fisherman, they still might like to see all the gear, how it's presented, ect, ect. I would betcha a lot of this has been posted. If we could remember the post, distil it down, we would find a lot of the book has already been written. So if you think of something that might fit, try and find it and post a link on this post.

Being a Salty Pup, I know this would serve as a constant resource.

As I started to do some searching, I ran across another post from Pilar about putting together something. My point is it sounds like Pilar and Jen are already in the process of putting this together.

Pilar, what has been done, and what can we do to help? Anybody else have an inside scoop?
