Default Tunaholics Anonymous Meeting

I think it is time to toast the wiley albacore once again... Those of us who missed 'but fishing this May can cry on eachother's shoulders. Maybe we can go native and come up with a warm-water dance and an albacore chant to bring the fish up sooner. Of course, we'll need to augment that with a "no air-moving around" prayer or something so the wind lays down at the same time.

Of course, I imagine there will be the obligatory tackle-tying clinics and story telling as well. Oh and pictures. There's bound to be pictures...

How's Friday, May 30 for everyone? Keta? You're heading up north... can you head out a little early?

Location: Santana's
3655 Southwest Hall Boulevard
Beaverton, OR 97005
Phone: 503-643-0488

Time: 6pm until the disco ball starts to rotate

Of course if the ocean calleth, we will change the venue to Newport or where ever...

Chime in!

Yeeha - you must be excited! Okay!

Santana's is on Hall St. Near the Hall Street Grill in Beaverton (just east of Cedar Hills Blvd, just north of Canyon Rd.)

Exact address:
3655 Southwest Hall Boulevard
Beaverton, OR 97005
Phone: 503-643-0488

There's a map and some directions and lots of other fun stuff about the last meeting here: http://www.ifish.net/ubb/ultimatebb....=001271#000009

Ya might just wanna use mapquest.com, though. Reading that post is likely to scare you away.

Team Y-
Take the Cedar Hills exit off of 26. Head south on Cedar Hills and then take a left on Hall Blvd. There's a stop light at Hall Blvd right across from GI Joes. Santana's will be on your right hand side in the strip mall about 200 yards from the light. If you go through another stop light and see a Wendy's, you've gone to far, turn back around and start again.
Hope you like Hornitos!

You wanna watch Bait Boy do the what? Bimini Twist? Hmm... I guess that would be a bit too racy to video tape and post, huh?

Well Pete, you could always make it to the next one... or reschedule your "busyness". If it's your daughter, you could bring her. Santana's is fine for kids before the cha-cha starts.

YEEEEEEHHHAAAAA! Not leaving for the CR Gorge till Saturday. Tuni says she can't stand spending more than one night away from home with somebody as old as me!
That means no hot tubbing for the salties after hours but WE get to join the pre-function at Santanas.
I guess it's Stars for some culture after the light show and Salza music starts huh?

RatherB - Don't get your hopes up for having a wild night at Santana's unless you plan on staying long after the dogs are gone to bed. We'll likely be the only patrons in the place until after 9pm.

Mel - Stars? For culture? Hehehe! You're funny.

Fisher-price - don't give up yet. If the weather turns nice, there's no doubt we'll be holding this meeting on the 31st at some coastal venue instead.

We'll miss you FA! I know the closer we get to summer, the more folks are going to be scattered and it will be hard to have the huge turn-outs we've had in the past... but I think that's okay. We can meet in smaller groups until we can find a weekend with good weather where we can all gather in Newport. I predict that it will be sometime in July.

I plan on attending. Gotta keep up with new friends I met in Newport... great folks. Will bring Mrs bb... she wants to check out these NEW names now being mentioned from my trip.

UPDATE: Mrs bb will NOT be going. She reminded me she has a bridal shower for our daughter that evening... something about priorities if I heard her right... that's exactly why I was planning on the TA meeting.

See ya then.

I'd like to be there, but have to check the schedule. Only bad part of the northern TUNA meetings is friday night Portland area traffic

I will definately be there, I have missed out on too much fun for too long.

If anyone needs a ride from the east side, I would be happy to drive? Or if anyone would need a ride home, I would not mind one bit.

Hoggemin, want to carpool?

Whoops! Everybody hold yer horses! I just checked my crystal ball...forecast for the weekend of May 30. Flat seas, no ebb tides all weekend, chinook bite is on fire...all fish averaging over 30#s, with several over 60#. Bite doesn't start until 10:00 am...noon if you were out late the night before.

Therefore, you'll all have to change your venue to Newport (Coos Bay would be even better).

I dunno, it sure sounds good...

Hey Jen, I let Rafael know that we were coming but could you give him a call at the end of the week with a rough total so he knows how much extra help to bring in? We're going on a vacation starting Tuesday for a week so I won't be around, otherwise I'd do it.

Sounds like it's going to be a good one!

Don't worry Mello, I'm sure it won't take too much convincing to get the Dogs to come down your way soon! You can count me in! In fact, I think all you have to say is "the tuna are in" and you'll have more Dogs at your door than you know what to do with!

M-Y: I like the way you think! If your crystal ball is accurate, we can have the TA meeting and all still be in Newport to fish on Sat. Of course, if we HAD to change the venue, I'm sure most folks wouldn't mind that at all

Miss B Haven - As usual the name fits! Does Tuni know you're giving away your secrets?

Corrirod - I'll give Rafael a call. How much notice does he usually want? I'm keepin' my fingers crossed that Mello Yello is right about the forecast.

Mike: It was good meeting you Friday. Thanks for your help in camp!

Blubeast: Sorry to hear the Mrs. won't make it. I'll be callin' you tomorrow to arrange for a return of your keys. Thanks again!

Be sure to add Skein and the missus to the list. Ask Hoggemin if he can fix me a buffalo burrito.

Skein - You're on. Shhh! If Hoggemin makes you a buffalo burrito, he's gonna have to make me 2 just to keep me quiet about it.

Hoggemin - Bet you didn't know that the way to a girl's heart is a nice, tender buffalo steak

Sheesh, this post is getting long! I guess I'll have to start a tally sooner than later.

Luke! Did you get out 'but fishing? Dang, I don't recall seeing? or hearing? or???

PM, if you could give him a call on Friday and then I'll follow up with him again when I get back on that Wednesday. I'm sure he could probably cancel his additional help with just a day or so notice but I'd rather we commit. Perhaps we should have the TA meetings on Thursdays to avoid crowding the weekend fishing trips?

It makes no difference to me, I show up at the ramp at 2am either way! (Ain't that right Hoggemin? )

Norm, everyone with a good spirit is welcome at the TA meetings! Look forward to meeting you!

There are usually a ton of people there so it's hard to talk with everyone but if you see me wandering around introduce yourself!
