Default Where to fish Rockpile for Halibut

Given that ocean conditions may make a run to the chicken ranch unwise...what areas around the rockpile do folks fish for halibut. I've looked at the chart and it is a huge place!!! We'll be heading out @ 5 a.m. tomorrow, I'd love to follow someone else out there! Or just a general location would be great too.
thanks,
steve

I know of the area where the Pilar was at when they caught fish last Saturday on the Pile (no numbers though), and I don't know where we were at when we pulled one up and missed another on the Pile last Saturday
Since you have charts, I'd start fishing the east side of the top of the North and South Pile and the canyon in between. More than likely you'll just pick up some really nice lings, but the chance for BFB is there.

Similiar to NRD, you will want to hit the edge of the pile. South and North have been good to me. I don't recall the depth we worked down south at the moment, but up north we started at about 195/200 and would drift south. The bottom will be coming up, so watch for snags. The south 1 - 1 1/2 mile of the pile to and just over the edge has been quite productive in the past.

When you get there, you will see where the other boats are working, but I have never done any good following the pack at the pile. I venture off from the pack and do better generally.
