Default Beach Closure!!!

Feb 20th 2004 is the last day that you have to respond to the proposed closure of our Oregon beaches. The approved plan would then go into effect June 2004. If you don't reply by Fed 20th, you will not have the right to appeal this decision for 25 years.

I hope they are prepared to close places like Camp Rilea military training facility as there are bunches of the plovers there too. I know that for a fact as I have seen them there many many times. I wished for once policticans and government officials would get away from all these hidden agenda's and just be straight with the public.

Didn't a TV station pick this story up lately?
Did they portray it very good? The more I read this proposal, the more stupid I think it is. Dont really understand the thinking behind it....there are many other things that need to be done before this.

from an average oregonians perspective this sounds absolutely ridiculous, I thought this was a free country...feels like we have more and more rules and stipulations being thrown at us, what to do

oh and can someone please explain what this exactly means in lamens terms??

what this means for visiting our local coast like lincoln city, seaside spring break, volleyball tourneys, walking on the sand, flying kites, and surf fishing for perch....does this apply for every stretch of beach land across the coast??

reading the opinions of one side seems overwhelming and i would like to know more..

The primary products of our legislature are two things:

(1) Lists of new things we can't do, and
(2) The bill for these new things we can't do

The most puzzling thing about it is that we pay them to do this to us.
