Default Don\'t toss your charts (or chips)

Hey- keep those old tattered charts guys! I was looking at my new chart with Talons this weekend (we're dock neighbors for a while)discussing spots to try for Hali's up North other than the Canyon. Something seemed to be missing and it finally dawned on me that tha bottom types were not there. "Come on Joe- they used to be there!!! "D-oh...Sure Mel ."
I pulled out the old one (this was the North Coast.. what is it? 8520???) and whallha (to quote a favorite website person we know and love)... there they all were, gr md, shl, br md, etc etc etc. Not a single dang bottom type that I could find on that BRAND NEW $25 version of the same chart!
I gotta check this weekend and see if they left off any more info.. hmmm. .no CR bouy, no Jetties, no.....??? :depressed:
Must be the new zipperlip version?

Rod- I have not contacted anyone yet. I was hoping to get some more input on this. Could be there was a good reason, could be a "layer" they forgot on this particular chart or could be ??????
Since these charts are really for Safety/Navigation maybe they decided that the bottom type was just a clutter that the chart didn't need?

Yeah, I don't know. It sounds kinda strange to me though. Especially in the shallows where boats might have a tendency to want to anchor, you would want to know the bottom consistency.

Wow, that's kinda scary Mel. Have you tried to contact anyone about it to see if it was a mistake?
