Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
Catch and Eat, for the record Roy has no effect on the bite in the Ocean. One explanation for this is the bozon theory. Bozons are particles which have apparent mass and travel at the speed of light. They exhibit the properties of both massive objects and electromagnetic radiation. The main properties of Bozons is bad luck or more generally entropy which is the tendency of things to fall apart.
When you drop the open tackle box the gear scatters across the floor. Bozon flux is responsible for this effect. Bozons are attenuated by conductive liquids like seawater.
So, BOE emits bozons which shut down the bite on the river. The river water has low conductivity and the bozon flux is not attenuated. But happily the ocean and salt water completely absorb the excess bozons and BOE can catch fish. Add to this the fact that BOE has to try much harder because of his handicap and he is pretty dang good at fishing when the handicap is removed by close proximity to seawater.
Make sense?
When you have a minute have me explain Darkon theory and it's relation to the black ends on burned out flourescent lamps.

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
So this is what you do when you are fishing on a slow day? Working out the phishysics of why fish are on the bite or not? I must say, I didn't know of the bozon theory but glad you pointed it out. Does it work on a charter boat with 27 novice halibut fisherpersons???

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
ATC -I dunno if it works on Charters, but it certainly does not work, at work! Lots of Bozons floating around here, no attenuation at all. In fact- I think they are magnified by concrete and steel.
PS- BOE, I still think you need to stay South of Falcon for a few more trips. I want to make sure this theory of Pilars holds water (hehe) for Salmon, Tuna and Bill's before you come North!

Mike, that one was worked out on the midwatch somewhere under the ice cap about 20 years ago.

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
Gee thanks John (I think)
I kind of like my no fish rep.
1. People see me and move on down the river
2. Doughballs dont ask to go fishing with me
3. Other boats are not watching me with Binos to see what I am doing
4. Other boats are not crowding my postion
All of the above are good things

BOE- you're a great sport- you can fish with me anytime, unless my freezer is empty.

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
That was a good chuckle.
It reminded me of what the guide at the wind river said, this spring, about negative vibrations and fishing. The guide said he knows a guy ( he didnt give his name , so i dont know if its Bait o eggs) that is so negative, he cant keep a watch running. The guide said that he wont let the poor guy in his boat , wont let him touch any tackle or hang around camp. The guide is convinced that this guy is a fishing hex and wants nothing to do with him. The guide backed up his belief with a dozen trips and still, this poor guy couldnt catch a fish. Last i herd, that the poor hexed fellow was still trying to shake it ,,, the hex ,,,, by him self..... id. p.

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
Thats some funny stuff Pilar! The Bozo, I mean Bozon theory may hold water but I question the positive ionization of saltwater on the negative static electric charge that BOE pocessess. In theory salt water is a better conductor of electrical current than fresh water. Thus he he do worse on the ocean. But I believe I have the answer as to why BOE actually caught fish with you John. Here is what you did:
1. Made Roy take a shower.
2. Made him stay low in the boat. I mean below the gunnel. This is a natural for Roy since a sneak attack is necessary to surprise the fish.
3. Coat Roy in a crushed herring lotion and rinse with an anise extract solution.
4. Take away his Snoopy pole and put a rainshadow in his hands.
5. Speaking of hands, make sure he is wearing gloves. Even though he does wear the gloves do not allow him near the bait.
6. Make sure you have an on board wash down system for BOE decontaimination.
7. Have a direct phone number for Tom Ridge and your local hardware store for an emergency delivery of duct tape and plastic wrap. Nothing like being prepared for the Bozon syndrome.
You were brave Pilar taking Roy with you. I fished with Roy one time on the Willamette and it was 2 weeks before I caught a fish after that. If you would like more information on the BOE syndrome or the Bozon complex you can e-mail Ramstrong for further documentation.
Disclaimer: Roy, I'd fish with you anytime too! Especially if you are going to cook!!!! Peace.

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
Well Roy, the assault never ceases. I think the Bozon theory may hold water. I don't need to provide further proofs here but here's one anyway.
You say doughballs don't want to fish with you. That would be implying I'm not a doughball? I was beginning to think I'd run off the production line at krispykreme until my trip with Bernie on Saturday.
While you were on your experiment with Pilar this weekend I was the control here in the valley. And it has been proven that your Bozon content is off the charts. You need to sell the duck and buy a tuuunnnnaaaaaaa boat immediately. I'm just glad you were able to finally put some fish in the freezer. Let me know when you want to go fishing next.

Roy, your problem now has a name. Glad I could help. I will have my Bozon dosimeter checked before we fish again.

1)His au naturale cologne is considerably more tolerable in a windy, salty environment (assuming you do your best to stay upwind) .
2)No one can mojo the entire Pacific Ocean .

Re: Why Bait o Eggs should fish the ocean
Great theory Pilar! How about all the other "strange" particles he is carrying around? What effect does the ocean have on them?
