Default Baby back ribs

Okay...this is likely old news to most competent chefs but I was impressed with myself.

I was involved in a large pot luck cook out last weekend and I decided to try barbecuing some baby back ribs. I got some pointers from some friends and a local butcher and here is what happened...

I rubbed the ribs with a salt rub then seared them on a hot barbecue grill for about ten minutes. Then I put them in a pan with some water and apple juice (just to cool them down a bit) then slow cooked them on the grill for another hour. Then I added a half gallon of apple juice to the pan and covered it with foil, then cooked for another 20 minutes.

I was told that the ribs would be done when they fell off of the tongs. When they were "done" I added the barbecue sauce and cooked for another ten minutes.

The result was amazing.... The ribs disappeared quicker than anything on the table. Probably my best cooking contribution ever.

If you put concentrated frozen apple juice in a spray bottle and spray
the ribs on the BBQ or in the smoker you will get a great glaze.
