Default Halibut trip wanted

Hello, I would like to go halibut fishing out of the Astoria/Illwaco area. I would like to go with a small crew I am not into the larger charter boats with many fisherman aboard. I will pay for a small charter trip, or gas or whatever. I will also trade a summer run steelhead trip on the Cowlitz river if interested. I am a licensed Coast Guard Captain/Guide in Washington, I have been on the ocean many times but I no longer have a vessel that will make the trip. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Slapper - call Tackle Time (on the front page). Gene has two six pack boats (pics on his web page) and a 43 delta. Not sure if he's taking the small boats out for Hali's or not. I sent him a note when I saw your post but didn't get a reply.

Try Captain Kujo on the Black Rocket out of Newport. He is an Ifish Sponsor too Or you could try the Blitz with Captain Mike but that boat is a bit larger than a six pack. The Irish out of Newports South Beach is awsome but likely to be booked well in advance.
I hope this helps. Come on back and tell us the tale of your trip if you get out...

I'd agree with Mr. F.

Fishing for Hali's out of Astoria is usually much harder than Tilly or Newport also. If you're looking for small boats the Black Rocket is probably the way to go.
