Ran west and found warm water fairly close but kept going for better water color.
Water started to clear but then started to cool off a bit.
Finallly started to warm back up a bit and started fishing around 44 45 by 124 55. picked up a few but only ones and twos. Picked up and ran north and continued scratch fishing all till about 2pm.
The bite had been dead to slow for a few hours. it seemed the boat and radio traffic started to die off and the fish turned on. Plugged the boat and left biting fish to run in. Only 2 under 20 pounds.
Hooked up several while trying to set the spread and a bunch more on the dropback. They were eating a 3 to 4 inch baitfish that looked kind of green and gold and shiny.
We had one iron jig that matched that and that thing hooked up ALOT.
Lost a bunch of diving rapalas to sharks malfuntions and breakoffs.
Ran in at almost 30 mph and saw 2 jumpers (yes tuna) at 15 miles from the bouy.
Awesome day. Maybe one of the crew will post pics.
