Default \'But season opener, day II

Pilar & BOE called from the rockpile about 7:15 this morning. Dropping shrimp gear now

On the run out to the pile, they reported a "big ol' greasy 6' swell and no air-movin'-around-stuff" It's a little lumpier at the pile, so they're going to peek a little west before totally committing to a run to the ranch. Maybe they'll just hang out at the pile and hook up with that 60" 'but that Pilar visited with a few weeks ago

Yup. They didn't do well with crabbing yesterday, so they left 2 pots out overnight hoping that they'd pick up a full house on the way home. Got a message at about 12:30 saying they were back at the Rockpile and pulled the shrimp pot... "empty" was about all I could make out from the staticky voicemail. "Nice size" were the other couple of words I made out - I assume they were referring to halibut

I worked all night and then snuck out...we were the third boat there and the first boat back....but only 10 ft in front of "hookup".
We just wanted to beat the black rocket...hee hee

We kept a 44 and a 35...not much size this trip. We released 10 others that were all 31 7/8 inches.
Funny how that works.

It is good to hear all the familar voices out there.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">I used to sneak out early too, but not now in the Rocket. It's easy catching only two fish and
being back early. Try 7 fish yesterday, in by noon, 5 fish today in by 12:30.

But you did beat the BLACK ROCKET in today. Good Job Hope you're not too beat up! See you out there tomorrow.
