Re: UFC Fans save your money
The NW has big MMA tie's....This would be a great chance to show how much interest is here and hopefully bring a bigger card to the area....

That's awsome.
I wonder how many drunks will be in the crowd compared to Vegas? Count me in.

Does anybody have any ties to get a suite? One of those skybox rooms on the 2nd deck at the Rose Garden? That would be the way to go!!

Re: UFC Fans save your money
what a great opportunity for those who have not been to a ufc event, however prepare yourself to drop some bucks $600 - $400 - $300 -$200 -$100(nosebleed complimentary) tough part is if you don't get your tickets early you'll end up with the worst or most expensive seat choices. Unfortunately I don't see this card being much better than a standard ultimate fight night card (non pay per view) nonetheless a true ufc fan should not miss the experience.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
I was just going to say that ! this will not be cheap folks. for 2 people if you get in on it early plan on dropping 2 to 3 hundreded per seat. and the food/beer parking will not be cheap either for 2 plan on a 600.00 day.. for florian and lesnar.. I dont know... very tempting but thats a chunk of change for a slow card....... if a guy had a sweet to use he could do pretty good i bet

Re: UFC Fans save your money
Here is the newest RUMOR
Rumour: Randy Couture to headline UFC 91 in Portland
No, your eye’s are not deceiving you, nor have you gone back in time, but there are whispers of a possible return to the UFC for heavyweight champion, Randy “The Natural” Couture, at UFC 91 on November 15th in Portland Oregon.
No way you say…… Impossible…… But I can assure you that this is a very real possibility. Sources close to the UFC have confirmed that an approach to Couture has been made along with a potential opponent (known not to be Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira) and Randy is said to be considering it.
News of Couture’s return to training, in readiness for a potential future opponent, passed over Mmabay news desk a few days ago, but it was passed up as just speculation. But now, with the additional information reaching us, it just adds more weight to the possibility of a return for “The Natural”.
As previously stated, although it is known not to be Nogueira in line for Couture, the opponent at this time remains a mystery. Many will speculate that the UFC may have reached an agreement with Fedor Emelianenko, although if this was the case a grander stage than Portland would surely be lined up. One possibility is Couture will face a top contender, before finishing his contract in the UFC with a super fight against Fedor in Las Vegas.
By Michael Pepper.
This is going around on the mma sites right now. Apparently, Sherdog mentioned the rumor on air sometime yesterday.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
My money says that there will be no fight in Portland. I read that Jackson has been charged with 3 felonies and 1 misdemeanor this week for his little escapade last month. As for Fedor fighting Couture, I think it going to happen but it wont be in the UFC.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
There will be fights in Portland. The UFC is coming it has been referenced in numerous articles on ufc.com I dunno if Couture will fight here but that would be awesome. As for Rampage he has Dana Whites money to keep him out of jail and we have all seen that money can buy freedom. Money doesn't buy innocence mind you but it may buy freedom for Rampage as it has bought freedom for others.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
I don't know if I believe it will happen in Portland either. At the same time, why not? He is from Portland and this will be the debuting UFC show here. He needs to get on the ball soon because he is not getting any younger.
If there is truth about him coming back to the UFC, Lesnar is rumored to be an opponent. Sounds like the court is telling him he needs to fullfill his contract.
I would swallow my toungue if Fedor fought even once in the octagon. There is nobody there for him right now except possibly Randy. Interesting news and more speculation as usual.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
Lesnar has been given the green light to fight in Portlands November card.
Opponent TBA.
Randy Couture fighting Lesnar is a far stretch without any legitimate sources but this fight has the potential to be the biggest $$ fight in UFC history...with that in mind I'm sure Randy and Dana white know this potential to cash in...
Unfortunately Fedor Emalianenko doesnt hold a candle to Lesnar in terms of marketability and bottom line.
Whatever happens this will be exciting times for our Northwest fans.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
Lesnar is a bigger name than the current UFC champ right now in the states. His debut UFC fight sold huge. I bet more ppv buys would go to Lesnar over Nog.
Nog vs Randy would be a war and a half. I would almost like to see that more than the Fedor fight. I think at this point, the Lesnar fight is something UFC itself would just rake money in to make Randy look bad or undeserving. I can't buy that the UFC does or ever will have his best interests in mind. Lesnar is a young, very powerfull wrestler that could deliver a career ending injury.
Why not give everybody what they want to see? Contract disputes, UFC vs every other org. thing is getting old. Of coarse business is business, but at the end of the day, the fans are what make this as big as it is.
Also, Affliction is trying to sign Jarome Le'Banner to fight Tim Sylvia for Aff 3 in January. This is a fight that's a long time comming.

Re: UFC Fans save your money
Tim Sylvia is such an overrated MMA fighter...his counter punch skills with long reach is absolutely amateur.
His overall knowledge of martial arts is not up to par, not well rounded.
Why even bring such a talented striker like LeBanner in to fight that tool?
I truly believe Lesnar vs Couture will be the biggest money fight in MMA history...they better decide quickly and start marketing it...November is just around the corner.
As for HW Champ Nog..i've said it all along the american athletic commission rules do not weigh in his favor...5 minute rounds just isnt enough time for a jiu jitsu practitioner. Nog will never be a superstar champ in the UFC.
Why was Royce Gracie so successful in early UFC...they had unlimited time...
Anderson Silva will be legendary for awhile...until he meets Damian Maia...

Re: UFC Fans save your money
LeBanner has been saying the same thing you are saying for years. He called out Sylvia many, many times with all sorts of funny remarks. At the end of the day, Sylvia was the 3 time hw champ.
LeBanner is another unknown to America, but many awsome matches will be made when he's signed then people start figuring what he is all about.
I agree 100% that the 5 min format is not right for Nog. Where else is he to go though?
Anderson is a professional house cleaner. When or if he looses, it will be some horrible fluke punch or by a top 5 lhw.
