Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
Mel - not fishy at all where I'm concerned. Ramstrong was there for my very first 'but trip and dang it if he wasn't the reason I caught the biggest fish that day. I was using his gear - he rigged it & baited it for me, too! I'd fish with Ryan any day...
Now as for Roy... I can't say a dang thing about whether he is good or bad juju... never fished with the man. So I'm just gonna sit back with my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
Now Now, I have to stick up for Ryan on this one since he's a native Southern Oregonian. He has yet to sit on my boat but I've seen quite a few pics with him and fish in the same frame.

Awwww,
Come on Roy, you know I'll still fish with you. But it would be nice if I could ever catch a fish while in your boat. I think we'll just have to dump it in the NFL. Then we'd have a great chance at a fish.

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
YUP - I've got a really scary picture of Ryan - hands all bloodied, big ol' swell rising up behind him... looked for it this morning and couldn't find it - must be on the other computer.
Roy! I didn't know that was your gear! Wow. Nice! You gonna use that same set-up this year? Don't go away mad.... :depressed:

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
I really don't know Roy that well but at the jetty party I talked to his mom about a halibut trip she took with him last year. Let's just say that she was considering never going again. Sorry Roy, I just call them as I see them. I think I heard some of the Newport boys have some open seats. HJ

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
Jen, It was Roys rod and Rippenlips' reel. I bet he's got about 50 different rods he's going to want to try this year.
Isn't this the picture you were thinking of?
Personally, I don't like it. I think I look like a monkey. Go ahead Roy, take your shot.

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
HawgJaw - I have never have and will probably never get to halibut fish with my mom. :depressed:
She went out with dad and some guy dad works with on a very rough day. They got beat up pretty bad. I doubt she goes out again unless it is very smooth.
Took mom herring fishin in Newport on Mothers day last year. She had a blast watching my boy (her grandson) drag a six pack of fish over the side of the boat with his snoopy rod and stomp them on the deck when they flopped I would get 3 or 4 of them in a bucket before he stomped on them to make them hold still.
Ryan why would I take a shot at you Apes are a protected species and I dont have a tag for one

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
This is all very interesting...
WildHawg, are you still looking for a seat?
Just kidding Roy,
I really want you to catch a fish just to prove them wrong and if we get skunked we will all know why

BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
OK- the truth is out. You gotta go back to the main board before you kill the bite in the Ocean BOE! http://www.ifish.net/ubb/ultimatebb....c;f=1;t=024675

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
Mel - It must be true it is on the internet
I think the guy doing the talking (Ramstrong) has the fishing problem. I have fished with Ryan probably 25 times and to date he has only landed a partial jaw of a salmon that spawned so long ago it was in decay mode. There was one other springer that was foul hooked in the Wind.
While fishing with Ramstrong, I have caught summer steelhead, chum, silver and springers. The silver might have been past its prime but thats 4 species to his one foul hooked fish.
Besides fish in the ocean dont know what lock jaw is

Re: BOE has to go (or: BOE- Phone Home)
Hey,
I'm just stating the facts. When I fish with Pilar? Boat limits. When I fish with coot22 I get fish for the freezer. But whenever I fish with you. I get nothing and you experience the limited success you've grown accustomed to over the years.
Oh and let's not pluralize the fish. Fishing with me you've landed a summer steelhead, a silver, a chum and two springers. 5 fish for at least 25 trips. That's not good. Especially since those 5 fish must represent at least 50% of the fish you've caught in the last 3 years.
Now I have it on good authority that BOE syndrome is a freshwater only phenomenon. I guess it would be the converse of the Amato saltwater jinx.
Another thing I will vouch for, Roy does make a good breakfast and is a bunch of fun even if he's cursed.
