lat season archery blacktails
anyone here see the late season for archery blacktails going to draw in the near future to where this would be your only archery oppurtunity like they did with the keno unit late hunt a few years back? whats your opinion.

I normally don't even try for deer until that time anyway so very little would change for me. Chasin' elk is #1

Re: lat season archery blacktails
some of you might have not understood the question, due from some of your responses and how my question is worded you might have thought i was saying IT WAS going to a draw, sorry, i was asking that WHAT IF they chose to make this a draw hunt later on down the road like they did the keno deer hunt what would your opinion be on that.

To answer your question, I think it would be unneccesary, and so a bad ideal.
Like many folks, I have lied to myself on the way home from an unsuccessful trip out east,
that I'll be back during the late season.
In 10 years, I think I've gone out twice. Its just not my bag, I'd rather chase 7 ducks in the rain than hope for 1 deer.
If there is no biological or MO reason for a draw, then its knee jerk reaction and poor management.

Lor I think your right it is nice to know that option is there if I had all the time in the world and could take more time off with out pay I would do it more. It helps to spread the hunters out more. I hope they don't mess with it.

Gotcha. Still think it would be a bummer if they did it, and it would be pointless anyway. But, if they did I would apply. I have 5 points for deer right now and wouldn't feel a bit sorry about spending those on late season blacktails.
Last year was my first year rattling for 'em. WOW! Can that be exciting. If you're hunting ducks and you've still got a deer tag, you are making a BIG mistake...and you know how much I like to kill ducks.
