Apple is best... Winter use mineral block

I have had great success using the Trace Mineral Blocks year round. I usually set them on an old stump and the minerals stay there long after the block has disappeared.

This is my first year trying salt licks on Mule Deer.

1st choice Bucklickers Apple

2nd choice Trophy Mineral

3rd choice Regular mineral lick from the feed store.

What is interesting is that the apple seems to work best. However, one of our lick stations the feed store variety is hit more that the apple.

Oh yeah, I break the apple bricks in half, bust off 5 lbs pieces of the feed store lick, and bust off about 2 to 3 pound chunks of the Trophy Mineral and give the deer a variety.

I tried the Deer CoCain with poor results.
